Director Shakti, fresh from his internship under Mysskin and Venkat Prabhu, has just completed his debut directorial venture Naanayam. It is intended to be a regular formula film with Prasanna as the hero and Sibiraj as the villai n. Playing Prasanna’s love interest is Ramya. So, what’s the difference between Naanayam and scores of other similar films? Says Shakti, “The story progresses without a hitch, from beginning to end. There are songs, of course, but they do not interfere with the flow of the script. In my opinion, songs are like the cherry on the cake, but not the cake itself.” Bold statement, indeed.
